MediShift — Terms of Use
1. Agreement
By installing or using MediShift (“the app”), operated by FormuVet (“we”, “us”), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
2. What the app is for
MediShift helps locum healthcare professionals plan their own shifts, record which businesses they worked for, raise invoices for that work, track payments received and keep receipts for expenses. It is a productivity and record-keeping tool for you, the individual practitioner. It gives no clinical, legal, tax, accounting or financial advice.
3. Your professional and financial responsibilities
You remain solely responsible for:
- Checking every invoice before you send it. Rates, hours, surcharges, totals, dates and banking details are calculated from what you enter. Confirm they are correct — we are not liable for an invoice raised with wrong figures.
- Your own tax affairs and record-keeping obligations. Travel deduction estimates and expense totals in the app are rough working figures only, based on a rate you configure. Confirm everything with your accountant and your revenue authority before filing.
- Honouring the shifts you accept, and any contractual arrangements with the businesses you work for. The app records your plans; it does not create, confirm or communicate any booking to anyone.
- Keeping proper clinical records in the practice's own system. MediShift holds no patient information and must never be used as a patient record.
- Confidentiality. If you choose to type identifiable patient or client information into a free-text field such as booking notes, that is your decision and your responsibility under POPIA, the GDPR and your professional obligations.
4. Your account and your data
The app works fully offline with no account. Signing in is optional and exists only to back up and sync your data between your devices. You own the content you enter. We claim no ownership of it and will not use it for anything other than providing the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You can export everything, or delete your account entirely, at any time from within the app — see our account deletion page. Keep your own backups of anything you consider important.
5. Cost
MediShift is free. There are no adverts, no in-app purchases and no subscription. We take no commission on anything you invoice, and no money ever passes through the app — the businesses you bill pay you directly.
6. Acceptable use
Use MediShift for your own professional record-keeping. Don't use it to raise invoices you are not entitled to raise, to impersonate another practitioner, to store other people's personal information without a lawful basis, or to attempt to access another user's account or data.
7. Availability and backups
We provide the app “as is” and make no promise that it will always be available, error-free, or that syncing will never fail. Devices are lost, apps are uninstalled and services have outages. Use Backup Data regularly and keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose, particularly invoices you may need for tax purposes.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of income, unpaid or disputed invoices, tax penalties, missed shifts, lost data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Changes and ending use
We may update the app or these terms. Material changes will be noted by the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, in the app. You can stop using MediShift at any time by uninstalling it and, if you created one, deleting your account.
